Deals, hotels and events that you’ll want to book this Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is just a week away, which means there is still time to book a romantic trip for two.

But with so many options out there, it’s easy to miss out on some gems – and great offers. From long walks on a Cornish beach to a couples massage in a luxurious Surrey spa, February 14 could be truly special this year.

No partner? No problem. Ryanair has a seat sale on for single travellers… and who knows, you could be in for a holiday romance. Or treat your Galentine to an event celebrating female friendship. Read on below to get inspiration for a last-minute getaway.

The Idle Rocks, Cornwall

OK, so it may not be scorching enough to go skinny dipping, but windswept strolls by the sea where you need to huddle up for warmth afterwards sound like a recipe for romance to us.

Luxury Cornish hotel The Idle Rocks has a Valentine’s experience throughout February, providing the perfect blend of food, wine and relaxation. By the harbour in the fishing village of St Mawes, the hotel’s rooms offer sea views.

Expect champagne and strawberries on arrival, followed by a spa treatment, a seven-course dinner and breakfast.

The Londoner, Leicester Square

For those after a sexy stay in London, the luxurious Londoner hotel is offering a St Valentine’s Week package.

Following a welcome glass of champers, your experience starts at its spa and is followed by dinner before you sink into a soft bed in a deluxe room or suite.

Ryanair solo seat sale
Ryanair is encouraging those without a partner to get travelling, with a seat sale timed around Valentine’s. The airline says advantages of solo travel include bagging the window seat and the possibility of a holiday romance.
Her Hustle: In Ode To Female Friendships, The Greatest Romances Of Our Lives
Female friendships are the greatest romances of our lives, according to Phoebe Waller-Bridge (aka Fleabag). They are celebrated at The London Edition hotel on Monday, February 14, for those avoiding all that mushy stuff. Journalist and presenter Emma-Louise Boynton — founder of Her Hustle set up to elevate women’s voices — hosts a panel of women who will read out extracts from letters they’ve written to friends, as well as reciting letters exchanged between historical female figures.

Runnymede On Thames Hotel & Spa, Surrey
Set on the banks of the river, the Runnymede On Thames hotel is perfectly placed for slushy stuff such as gazing at swans or trying to impress each other by rowing a boat.
Happily, you can also retreat to the more pampering environment of its spa before donning your glad rags and dining at the Leftbank.
Restaurant, where you’ll have the option of tackling a selection of sharing specials, including the Cupid’s Heart dessert — a chocolate and passion fruit heart with pink champagne jelly and raspberry and lychee coulis. Leave room for breakfast in bed.
